I have a 1935 Ford 3 window coupe with a 59ab flathead engine, currently running the original 3 speed gearbox.
I am about to put in a rebuilt 1939, 3 speed gearbox .
Can someone tell what size clutch kit is required and where to purchase a good quality clutch kit from as i would like to purchase before i pull the car apart.
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks

The size of your clutch depends on what your flywheel was drilled for.

You will need to verify your clutch size, Fort Wayne clutch has provided EXCELLENT service and product.

Is it worthwhile also buying a new flywheel so i can buy it all now?
    Thanks

My 32 runs a flathead with a late 40's flywheel and a 9" clutch. It's plenty for a light car.

You can redrill your flywheel if you don't have the right pattern already.

Anything bigger that a 10” clutch won’t come out without dropping the pan , unless you have a truck/ 2 piece pan, so that’s something to bear in mind

you dont have any flywheel? usually you can see a wear mark that will show what size disk was on it. I run an early flywheel with the big blob counterweight cut off, and a 9" disk. light weight. however, with a merc crank and cam I can make it slip. should have had FT Wayne put some heavier springs in

59 originally came with a 10" in a car or 11" in a truck. Who knows what someone may have done in the past. No need for a new flywheel.
