I picked up this truck in north Mississippi for 800$ with the intent of just getting it running. After getting it to the Man cave for a better look we relized the truck was in very good shape.so I decided to do some restoration work. The plan is old man on the out side and new under.Keep the over all cost as little as possible. Id like to keep it 3/4 ton with modern frame Planning on using mid 80s c2500 frame for the disk brakes and highway running gear.Id like to use this truck as a mobile welding truck.its been a couple weeks of hitting it pretty good here's were im at now.body is coming along no frame yet.
Hood had a deep dent in the passenger corner covered with 2 pounds of bondo after some hammer work and a skim coat of filler it looked good to prime.after I primed it i realized I jacked the line up and will have to redo it.
some fender work removed huge chunk of crap out or the corner.the rest of the fender was rough managed to get most hammered down.the front corner was smashed pretty good could have worked it more but filler is easy and my arms were killing me after hammering on that thing all day
bed off and repaired the steel around the spare was broken and so beat up it was easier to cut and replace. The driver rear fender beat to hell.cab corners gone and the doors are crap but the floors are perfect and the front fenders look good
Looks like a good start, you're knocking it into shape. Might take some flack on the newer chassis around here, but it will make the truck a nice driver
Looks good. I would look into a 73-87 Chevy chassis. The 88-98 are just a bit too wide. Sent via Illinois Bell Telephone Company's Car Radiotelephone
finished both cab corners the re stamps made that real easy got some color on its a 30/30 paint job but I plan on using this truck.
