Technical 59 Chevy Pick Up Fuel Pump

A friend has a 59 Chevy pick up with 6 cyl I believe it's a 235 cid and needs a fuel pump with the windshield wiper vacuum fitting we search Kanter & Egge without any luck, any other sources out there ? The truck is all original survivor and wants to keep it that way, it's in his family along time and was actually bought from a dealership that was in his home town and has the original paperwork.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks John

 

Do you actually need a whole pump? Assuming it’s the diaphragm that’s gone, just get a rebuild kit.

the vacuum pump usually doesn't really do anything useful, you can get a single type pump pretty easily, eh? do that instead.

 

The vacuum part just helps the wipers work a little better on hills or when accelerating but that is all it does or is on the engine for. A regular single action pump is a direct bolt on with maybe a little line line up issue. I'd just go get the 23 buck one at O'Reilly's to be able to drive the truck and then decide if I want to order the 155 dollar one from Summit. Or hope that O'Reilly can scrounge up one of their 198 dollar ones.

Searches show that Jim Carter, Parts Hawk and a couple of others are out of stock on the dual pumps. Personally for the 130 to 170 dollar difference I could put up with wipers that didn't work perfect all the time or add a belt driven or electric vaccum pump.

My daughter'sHHR isn't a turbo but I can look under the hood and see if it has one.

Sorry didn't read your post closely enough. I used the Newport Engineering electric replacement on my 1957 Chevy pickup (2 speed). Has worked fine for years.
