Hey guys im getting ready to cut the coils on my 59 Bel Air and was wondering if there is anything I should be prepared to encounter. I think I am going to take 1.5 coils out of the back and 1 out of the front. Anybody that has any experiance with lowering the suspension on these cars let me know if you think that is too much. Thanks, TJ

I heated the coils in my 59 Bel Air and dropped it about 2-2.5 inches. It looked good and rode fine, but I replaced it with new 3" lowered springs and it rides better and sits lower.

I don't think you'll encounter anything weird, but the car will likely have a stiffer ride and with you rear lower than the front, you will drag over speed bumps, driveways, etc... but when has that ever stopped anyone?
