Having trouble getting push button cable linkage adjusted.
    Can't select all the gears.
Only able to get Neutral and Reverse
Also neutral safety switch seems out of adjustment
    Any suggestions ?

If the shifter is adjusted properly to get R and N, and it doesn't move forward in the forward gears, then either the shifter isn't working, or something is wrong in the transmission (ie forward clutch burned up, etc). You could look into the neutral switch hole and make sure the linkage on the valve body moves as it should when you push the forward buttons

thank you both for suggestions..... needed to also mention that when I select 1,2 or drive that the buttons would not depress fully to stay in position.
I'll print / order a factory service manual,
and interesting that I could do a search from the title.... thank you guys

Transmission was dropped off for oil leaks at front and rear and knew it would be best to disassemble, clean and check clutches. Forward clutch pack was slipping.
Piston seals had hardened over time, and did a complete overhaul.
I helped re install and not being there for the removal , was difficult figuring out the small details of cable adjustments and linkages.
Found a suggestion to remove pan and have owner push buttons through the gears as I watch the detents on the valve body.
Will be doing that next week. Appreciate all the info
