Made it out and look for someone that matches the reflection of you in car paint. Did you make it out?

  2. The stock brackets are great for accessibility, but but I 'likes' everything lowered!

I elected myself to take my friend back to the airport. She orig said she was going back to No Carolina, today. So I had a change of plans, sorry about that. Coming out this way, to what used to be 'Tuxies', were there any cars you hadn't seen before? Imma cruise out your way, next time you hit a cruise night. I'm always up to see new (to me) old cars!

I think it's been 2 yrs since i've been there and pretty much the same. Not to many ground pounding street cars. Way to much billet, cut outs and old guys with lights under there rockerpanels. Oh wait, thats right it's put on by the old farts:p;):D. I cleaned up the engine bay a lil for you could see the brackets I made:mad::D JK. Wasn't a wasted trip, I met up with a few of my old car freinds from when I lived in Corona.

  4. It was a different place, when the OTHG was the majority, there. Amazing how everything in life changes.

I scrounged up some studs for the vlv cvrs & dist clamp. Now I'm on my way to 'The Car Shop' in Orange.. for the orig 59 oil sending unit & 58-67 oil Filler tube cap.

  5. Not much left to do now but, clean, grind, mask & spray. Not sure if it's going, Lt. Green or Chev Orange!

I like seeing the survivors they have usually have for display, at the Car Shop. This 64 was clean! The rt rr qtr, was about the only damage on this thing, kinda cool tho'!

Cool! You got the parts.Karl is a good guy.I like his 36 & his 46 ford.Did you get the cowl too?

  11. No, I didn't pick up the 29 cowl. But I was offered a 30-31 cowl, which would be a great start for piecing together a roadster. Prolly just keep my T rdstr body for a street project, later.

Thanks for the lead, I really appreciate it! Karl's stopped by my hse, in the past. He spoke to Joe. (Oh Lordy!)

So I put a little more time in the mechanism, that will actuate the radio up and down. Also carefully removed the emblem, so I can polish the rr lic plt holder, then replace the with a new emblem.

I have a '60 Elky and want to take the moldings off the roof but don't know how to release the clips holding the rear piece. I heard that if you do it wrong you find out the hard way by destroying it.
Could you, or Nads, show me how you did it?
I looked through all of both threads and saw pics of it off, but missed the process of how to get the clips released.
If either of you already posted that, maybe you could tell me which post number it was?
    Thanks in advance!

  13. Post #74 shows the mldg, right after I removed it. The clips are still attached to the mldg. Looks like you just have to take your time and try manipulating it slowly. What's the rush? I should look at mine tomorrow, and see how many clips Imma have to scrounge up! I will hopefully have a better answer by then! 8)

    Thank You!
No rush, just would like to get it done some time this decade.
I'm 63 years old and want to get it done before I start forgetting where I put all the parts..:eek::cool:

  15. No, that's what I tell myself over an over.. "What's the Rush" I am not that practiced when it comes straightening stainless mldgs, so I find it easier to slow down and save myself the work. I hear ya though, time stands still for no man!

DrJ, just take your time, they'll come off, mine did, try prying them from underneath so if they do twist you won't notice. Where the edges are the moldings are quite strong.

  18. You guys have it made.

Mine is so rusty I don't have to worry about damaging trim. The clips or the body where they mount break away if you look at them hard!

  19. Now I just have to finish this thing up!

I just want to thank you for taking us along with this build. It's been fun for me and I'm sure others too. I'm impressed and I've learned a lot too.
