  2. When I noticed the difference in the cc shape by the sparker hole.. I was pretty bummed, cos I ASSUMED they were different! So I won't even need a night cap for tonights trip to la-la land!

  3. Went up to Eric's (Gazelle Machining) today, since Edison elected me not to work today. Some scheduled power outage.. and this is what I choose to do with my time. Getting my skateboard legs back.. good for the soul! So I added my song 'Quit While You're A Head'! I figured it fitting.. listen to the words

I didn't hear or see this thing land.. Never know what I'm going to see up here!

Then when I got home yesterday, right before I went in and passed out in a much needed nap.. I grabbed the '61 Corvette 283 that came in my elky, and started soaking it in old bad gas. It's seized right now, an we'll see why, soon enough!

So I had to go pull duty today. Met up with Johnny(Mr.)Gee and was introduced to Cyclone Kevin and Buddy(38FlatCad). Al Simon stopped by, always good talking with him. 90% of the trip home, I was cruising next to the 57 Sedan Delivery, I see every time I'm up there. All in all.. great wknd

ElMir dirt.. the only excuse for a filthy car!

Cyclone Kevin reaction to your dash in the 57 was just about the same.

Was nice talking a spell with you Jay. Kevin was very glad to have met you. He couldn't stop talking about how much stuff you shared and knew.

  8. They thought I was skipping my duties.. I figured it out and got to stacking them cones. It was real cool seeing every body. Jim Sig& I are coming out to the broiler this week or next week.. For sure!

Great meeting up you J. Loads of info shared! very kool! Yeah, That dash=Very smart way to export :), One learns something new everyday.

Hope that you guys make it out. Food is good and company is great!!!!!! Glad that you got those cones picked up. :).

  10. Yeah, it was great meeting & talking with you. And with Johnny Gee around there's bound to be some good, double OO agent jokes!

My favorite thing about my dash is that the speedo and dash clock lenses are black letters and #s on a white back ground. Stock but yet the opposite of the norm! No biggie but it 's cool to me.

My good friend JimSig & I, are going to head out to the Broiler, tomorrow. We're leaving here at 4pm. So from San Bernardino to Downey, we'll be there in the 57. I even cleaned it up a bit.. see you guys there!

  11. I'm going to Bonneville speed week, this year. This should be fun

  12. It was good talking with Jack aka BuickWag. I seen Mel, the owner of my old wgn. Use'ta be a 210 4dr wgn. We used 2dr doors and qtrs and made the back door one piece.

Upon reflection, I have to admit I goofed. I enlarged the picture and what I thought was a handle on the deck lid was the hinge, also the step I thought was on the fender was just one of those gas lid chrome accents. Doh!

  16. I wasn't second guessing you, I just thought I was missing something!:D

I dig, and I'm glad you asked.

  18. So I've put in a couple hours blocking and priming on the 59. But I had to replace the pwr window motor in the 57. The 57 was needing maintenance, so I've been working on it lately.

Oh yeah.. and today I went and picked up some doors for a 31 St/R project

Here's an update of the parts I've already collected.. not worth starting another thread.

Newbie question on the BB frame...how much of that is the same (or close enought) as a passenger car frame? Does it have the traditional 'reveal' at the cowl? I passed on a couple of big truck frames because I assumed they would be completely different. Now I'm gonna have to kick myself if they would work...and provide a clean 1932 VIN.

  20. You were right, in that they are completely different! From what I can tell, my frame is the same as an AA frame.

  21. Just back from the Pomona swap Meet. Found an Elco qtr mldg for a good price! So I'm going to use the Bel-Air/ElCo mouldings, and save the Impala mldgs for a later project I have in my head. It surprised me how many 59 Elco parts & cars were there

I've noticed every 59 tie-bar is different around the park lite area.. I've been looking!

$2,500 for this, an it wasn't that bad. Mine was a better deal.. IMO

$250 for this pile o' parts! Wow

Looks like your off to a good start. i've been collecting parts for a 30-31 roadster/rpu too!I would like a prewar look. I have a cowl, tank, doors, frame, model b motor and a Riley 4 port. I still need subrails and quarters. If I come across anything extra I'll let you know.

  23. I was sitting in my friends 30 coupe, at the PSM. Amazing how much room there isn't! I appreciate you looking for parts, for me. I can use all the help I can get.

  24. Here's the cowl.. I thought the firewall was there, guess not

You know, that looks a 28-29 fordoor cowl.
I have one too, but your's is in better shape.
There's a couple of rails for the gas tank to slip inside it, right?

  26. Good eye! An yes, it has the rails for the gas tank. I have a access to a restored 31 rdstr, so I can use it to compare measurements.
