Cool I can't wait to see the outcome

  2. The media blaster showed up today. Along with the glass beads. I need to find a place in the I.E, that sells the glass beads. Tomorrow, I'll get everything tefloned and buttoned up. Finally!

This 2dr stood out, amongst the only 4drs I would never consider as just parts cars!

I think a 58 Cad rr bmpr will look good on my 57BelAir

Customizing a 57 Pontiac rr bmpr would be different. Fill in the top, where it dips for the plate.

    I like the look

  7. Yesterday I set everything up. Then I go to figure out how this blaster works.. only to be shut down. Ends up being a .25cent 10/32 fine thread fix.. Fudge! Why would this ball valve have this extra outlet? That question repeated in my wittle bwain, repeatedly!

    Didn't touch the fiberglass resin

I'm really happy (stoked) with how rad this blaster and the glass beads remove the most stubborn of MO. rust!!

Now, I have to figure out how to sift all this clean again.

That little screw hole in the valve is to bleed the air from the line down stream from the valve when it is closed. It's a safety thing, probably not needed in your application.

  15. There's no info on it, in the paperwork they sent. My uncle said the samething. Should've been some sort of bleeder valve.

As already stated, this findings is from McMaster-Carr

    Safety Air-Exhaust Brass Ball Valves
Meet OSHA requirements for safety and control in your compressed air system. When closed, these valves vent air pressure through the exhaust port on the bottom so you can disconnect air tools safely.
    http://www.mcmaster.com/#ball-valves/=lb1zya

Now, since there's no info from that link either. Does it bleed air with the valve closed with air connected from the compressor in that configuration? What if you mounted the valve 180 of what it is now. Then it may keep full pressure when open and bleed off only the blasting tank and not bleed off air from the compressor when the valve is closed.

  17. Not when it's closed, just when it's open. I need to be patient and wait for customer service to answer. I'm curious what they have, that fits there.

That don't sound right either. Will just wait and see then. But here's a thought. What if the handle was installed 180 off at the factory that made the valve? Try removing handle and turn the ball 180 and re install handle. Give it a shot and that don't work, I say the valve is faulty.

  19. I'll post a better picture tomorrow, of the set up.

  20. Should go a little quicker with the paint gone, when I next blast the rest.

Check Check, One Two, Check. It's working. Too much Football action for Jay I guess. I'll give him another 24 Hrs before I send the troops out.

  22. I just finished blasting for the day. Now I have to vacuum up the glass, again. Pic will follow

Tedious work, but I do like the results. I felt the panel after I hit it, an it was warm. Nothing to worry about as long as I keep things moving along. FUN-FUN

Envision a 'funnel' for the walls of your blast area. So it flows in a controlled manner to the immediate ground. Having a helper with a drop light, check your work immediately as you go to save you time, with these bigger pieces.

  26. As soon as the sun went down, the blasting hood started fogging up. Added to the frustration of the whole thing, for sure. A funneled floor with a vacuum recovering system would be great. With a filter to clean it as it collects.. leaving it ready for immediate use. Yeah, I could imagine that in my dream shop!
