I do not think I would the shape just is not a good mix.
Maybe 58 chev Impala taillight mounted verticle in the stock pickup location???

  5. I don't see it myself. But maybe when its done?

A simple easy trick is to pull the original lights and remove the bezzels then put 'em back. Makes 'em look frenched.

That said when I was young enough to think that anything as new as '62 or 3 was late model I spent my time looking for tailight bezzels for that model truck so I could have tail light bezzels.

Gee that's two things that are pretty bizarre, one is that I used to try and find 'em with bezzels and the other is that now I'm not real young and still consider early to mid '60s vehicles to be late model. Some things never change I guess.

I've given a lot of thought about changing mine in my '62, but never could come up with a good combo. I like the stock ones without the bezel look, but still have my bezels on now...

  7. What would be slick on one of these is to slip in a set of '52 Buick taillights. They're about the same shape and maybe a tad bigger than stock, and the lens has two bullets molded into it. A real subtle change that would have people scratching their heads, I think. Modify them so they run two bulbs inside, too, one for each bullet.

But if you want a long taillight in there, 59 Bonneville would probably be narrow enough to fit. If they're too tall, the Catalina lights might work too. I see where the '59 Chevy light mimics the taper at the bottoms of the sides a bit if you turn it so the curved side is out and the point is down, but I think if you laid a template of one on the back of your truck, it would look funny.

My '53 Stude with vertical Impala lights

  9. A thread back from the dead, but the shape of the Stude bed lends itself to those lights a lot better than the Chevy.

  10. I couldn't agree more, they would look completely out of place.

Try 89 Cad-devile mounted vertical in fender/side pannel or horz in tail pan

To bad you couldnt find another box and try grafting the fins from a 59 to the box sides and tailgate , then install the Cateyes.. that would be cool.. with the narrow bumper at the bottom..
