My 59 Safari originally had a 389 in it, but was long gone when I got the car. I've put a OT engine in it and it's substantially lighter than the 389. It maybe brought the front down an inch or so. I have 2.5" drop spindles to install, but since the OG springs are rated for the weight of the 389, I'm thinking it might ride pretty rough in the front. I know these frames are totally different than chevy frames, but are there any other possible spring swaps that you guys could suggest? I'm not interested in bagging it, as this will be my wife's car, and I don't want the hassle with all that. I'm just looking for a little lower and still keep a decent ride. Any ideas?
