59 Ranchero Gas Sending Unit Question.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by ponyboy, Jul 30, 2007.

  1. Howdy, I am anxiously waiting for my gas tank to come in the mail....but need a gas sending unit. Should I get the unit for a Ford truck or a Ford car or is there one specifically for the Ranchero? I can't seem to figure it out and I have been running it with with a generic tank for a while so I got nothin to go by.

    THANKS!!

Hey Ponyboy, Your sending unit and gauge need to function in the same ohm range. So if your using the original gauge then you should get an original(or repro) sending unit for the ranchero. I don't know the ohm range your car is but it might help to know. Many orig and aftermarket gauges have the range printed on the back of the gauge. So it's somthing to go by. Normal

Wagons, Retractables and Rancheros use their own unique one- different than the sedans.
