I’m starting to get lazy so I’ll ask. The 59 seems like a ******* child when it comes to finding parts. Looking for a few things for my 59 Rancho and can’t seem to find them through the usual channels. Also checked McMaster Carr and no luck.

Fuel fill o-ring. The tube is 2.08” OD where the oring seats and the tank orifice is 2.41” ID. Mine is in pretty bad shape and I’d like to replace it while I’m replacing the tank and sending unit.

If it’s okay I’ll just edit this thread with the next part I need and recycle the thread.

    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Don't well stocked hardware stores (not the "big box type") sell ***orted sizes of O rings? I know that my local hardware store sells them.

Yes I’m sure they do, I doubt they are compatible with ethanol blended fuels though. Most of the fuel has ethanol in my area.

I don't know what size they are, but 57 birds used a similar setup and the O rings are available. By calling one of the Tbird auppliers (tech guys) maybe you can get a dimension of the 57 Birds. Check with CASCO and Hill's (Ohio) and Prestige Thunderbird in CA. Part # is 370322S

Hydraulic hose shops are usually a great source for O-rings. We have several in Amarillo that I've used, but the best one moved a few years ago and I haven't been able to find it since. Also, I would suspect the quality of rubber components from a hydraulic shop is going to be superior to hardware store products.

I hear you on the ******* child deal as I also am working on a '59 Ranchero. It's a long way from going down the road however. Buna, Buna-N (Nitrile), or Viton are all ethanol compatible so if any of those come up in your search you're good. I don't have a lot of spare parts, but will watch your list.

Might Try Big M automotive in Willows, CA for parts as well.

For hydraulic stuff, try Moreland Hose on Sunrise Hwy, the south eastbound service road in Oakdale.

It is right between the adult shop and the gun store.

Good call, I’ll have to check their hours of operation. My work hours keep me until the little specialty shops are closed.

    Edit; open Saturday 8-12!!!

Edit Edit; there’s a similar shop out here in Rocky Point, also open half day Saturday!

Moreland used to be elsewhere, not sure how long they are in Oakdale. They made up a power steering hose for me and the service was great.

Rocky Point might be closer to you, a blast up William Floyd.

On my 59 wagon I have a lot of make stuff work parts. Digging through universal stuff and measuring and cutting. ****s when you wait a week for something to arrive and it won't work.

I hear ya. It’s nice to catch a break once in a while.

Take a look at this brand new clutch fork I just got from Rock Auto:
