  1. [emoji1] I just hope I can stop tearing mine up so I can wear it out instead. [emoji6]

LOL, Brian I hear ya on the old body. Knocking on 61, my body creaks and pops like an old wooden boat sometimes.
Btw, that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle look was kinda cool. Are you sure you don't wanna revisit that? :D

ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1457029894.569454.jpg no work on the 'bird, I've been pretending to be a cabinet maker in our '47 Spartan. Thrashing on it to have it done for this season, I'll get back on the T'bird, the '63 Rivi and the '34 roadster when the trailer is done.

  6. nice progress on the interior, and the Spartan will be a nice supplement to the bird!

Thanks, it's been a grueling project, not helped my hip replacement in November. I struggled up until the past three or four weeks to get anything done. The 'bird will probably be sold as soon as it's done, I'm having a hard time being enthused about it after all this time.

Sorry to hear the 'bird has lost it's appeal, although I couldn't imagine trying to do all you do at once. Not to go off topic on your thread, but is your Spartan layout a recreation of an original, or is it custom? I'm just starting on my 57 Airstream.

Glad to hear that you are mended from your surgery. I understand exactly about the bird project. My custom has been a long term projects that has been interrupted way to many times and some days I just wish that it was gone. It's like the song that never ends........
Keep on keeping on. Spring is coming.......

Thanks guys, it's a bugger getting old but beats the alternative. The Spartan is an interpretation of the original. Same layout but different details. Doing a front booth similar to our last one, nicer galley, vintage appliances (I broke the budget on the fridge, original converted to LP/120v), and better materials throughout. Although, the last one was pretty nice... ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1457042443.625485.jpg

Sigh... No, but I did brush an inch of sawdust and dirt off it the other day. Been working on the '34 roadster. I guess it and the Riv are going to be retirement projects... IMG_0959.JPG

IMG_0958.JPG Ok, the trailer, and the '34 are done. Back on the T'bird as soon as I get the wagon re-painted. After going to Cobo and seeing an old A bros custom , how about lime gold and Pearl white interior?

    Ha! Somebody remembered! ;-)

The more I think about the lime gold, the more I think I like that idea. It would be my own vision, not someone else either, which I also like. Of course, that means wide whites and full caps, not the Salt Flats, but it would look pretty darn cool. Plus, it'd go with the early 60's vibe the roadster has, and I have a set of 14" WW's! I was gonna get new seat covers anyway, because I burned a hole in the drivers seat cushion with a welding spark, and the door panels need redone anyway, so that's no big deal. IMG_3214.JPG

It could happen any day now, although 16 months is the "official" date. I'm working for health care benefits right now, but a year of buying my own is sounding better every day...

Brian if you can retire now comfortably, go for it. You only live once. If I could retire today I'd do it in a heartbeat, but right now it looks like I'll be able to retire when I'm 139 ears old.:D

  23. Good to meet you in Detroit Brian! Glad to see you turning your attention back on the T-bird. The 34 is cool, but I'm a custom guy, so I'm itching to see this one come together. :)

Hahaha. I remember the early 70s with long shackles and air shocks.
