Can a 59A Flathead intake be used on an 8BA and if so, what needs to be done? This is probably as stupid and/or easy question. Be easy on me, thisis my first flathead,

Yes they fit. The 8ba has fewer bolt holes than the 59.
On mine I had the machinist ( he had it up in the mill anyway ) drill and tap the extra bolt holes in the top of the block. So it wont look like I have bolts missing.

The intakes will bolt on but there may be some issues. Trying to put the older intake on the newer motor and you loose the road tube. If you put the newer intake on the older motor you can just plug the hole. Fuel pump push rod lengths may differ, and if you mismatch it may be an odd size rod not a standard replacement. Also, they hold the carbs at different angles. This may or may not be an issue. If your car has a rake it's going to throw off any factory angled carb anyway so it probably wouldn't matter.
