I have a 59A flathead in a 36 3-window coupe and need to change the head studs for application of a new set of Offy heads. The motor is still in the car.I have a K-D stud
puller(new)and it does not really grip the old stud very well. How are most of you guys doing this chore? double nut on studs is not going to do to well on the row of short studs,as there arent enough threads for 2 nuts.
    Give me some ideas guys

I used a Craftsman cam lock? type of puller on my non Ford studs. Heated the stud ton red hot near to the block surface. Let it cool and pulled it out. There was a long thread here on pulling studs.

The K-D stud puller is a cam lock also......Sorry,if I missed a thread here on this subject...At 76,I am not very computer literate..
I was hesitant to heat the studs and chance breaking one off in the block......

That's why I heated mine. I got tired of breaking them off in the block. After I started heating them they stopped breaking. Do not heat the block. I am told that other people have cracked blocks that way.

i have dis***embled several flathead ford blocks and have never broken a head stud off, knock on wood. here`s how i do it- use overwhelming, constant, STEADY force. i use an eighteen inch pipe wrench to grip the stud and use CONSTANT,STEADY force. it may take several minutes before the stud will start to turn, just resist the urge to jerk the wrench a little. when you have that great of a mechanical advantage [eighteen inches] you can develop a "feel" for what the stud is doing, so you don`t twist it off. hope this helps.
