lookin to replace the 4 speed in my 52 F1. it has a 59ab rather than the (I think it is an 8ba) origional engine. What works best? Also do radials work on that year/model and if so do they improve the handleing?
    Thanks.

Radial tires will ride better, handle better, and be far safer to be on in the rain or snow. Easiest trans to use would be a 39 with the shifter in the top, 40 to 48 you need linkage to shift it.

  3. Radials will give you the best handling no doubt. Since you have fenders- that's what I'd do...
I put a T5 behind my 49 flathead. Came from a late 80's S10 truck. An easy swap and well worth it.
