Me & Wife been doing some photochopping. Here's the T coupe. Give me your opinion on how low to go. I decided no matter what the rear gl*** is getting 6" out of it so I didn't post that shot.

    A. 6"
    B. 7"
    C. 8"

Keep in mind that the car will have a 3-4" channel.

I'd sit in the car, in the seats I was planning to use, and measure the distance between the top of my head and the roof. Then I'd subtract ~1/16" and chop it that amount.

yeah, what he said, sit in it and be sure you'll be happy with whatever you do, then do 8"s if it'll work for ya. Just don't build something you and your wife won't be comfortable in.
    Oh, and save the pieces.

One day all the T coupes will be severly chopped... but then having stock height heavily chanelled cars will be cooler and whole companies will be formed to supply the parts to put them back to stock height.. I get tons of compliments on my car being stock height and not chopped like all the others...Do what suits you though... They are a pretty narrow cramped car no matter what you do with them...(They do look good with a couple inches out though).. EVILT

NO CHANNEL !!! Chop it 8" inches and add 2 inches to the rockers like The Green Grenade.....

  22. Are you sure your on the right forum?? Restorers seem out of place here (JK)

Hell the 8" looks nice but like others have said, go as far as you will fit in the car.

ill agree to looking into "sectioning" the header panel a bit but thats realy up to you and will depend on what your running up top anyways . ie visor ect. if you drilled your visor and took out a healthy amount out of the header you could see THREW the holes in your visor giving you a little more visor and alowing a heavyer chop.

if your running minus a visor 2 or so inches out of it would round out the proportions for ya i would suppose.

now as far as the chop, im thinking 7 and a 1/2 would be a good spot. i agree given the 3 options that making the quarter window as "square" as possible is the way to go. 7 inches seems just off and 8 a hair to much thus the 7.5.

its going to varie with your ch***i and over all build plan/set up but that should get you started. i think un channeled and the thicker the frame rails verticaly the more chop you can get away with and still look proportional....well up to a point as with all things.

    kinda a ramble haha

    7.5 it is

  25. Tim, good post even if you did think you rambled! Didnt think of the header panel myself. But then again I am a dumb****.

If your a man of proportions, 7" looks right.

  27. I'd say 8" if not 9"

Go 10" and remove the panel over the windshield, the yellow one Weesner drew and helped build is perfect.
