    hey guys

lots say youve got a 6-71 -- or very simalar root style supercharger-- and you stack two four barrels on top of that

how tall would this be from the mounting surface were the blower meets the manifold to the tops of the carbs?

    thanx

12 in. to the gasket surface of AFB carbs on mine. 12 3/4 to the top of the airhorns.

Generally speaking, GMC-style blower cases are all 7 1/2 inches tall, from the 3:71s all the way up to 14:71s.

The height of the carburetor adapter can vary from a couple of inches down to as thin as you can make one. You could do it with quarter-inch 6061 T-6.

I've seen them go as high as 100 ft. when they really let go.
That's why they tie them down and put burst plates on them now.

I can't get to my coupe right now, but i measured it once and i think it was a touch over 12" from the base of the case to the top of the carbs.

  8. Ha! What a co-inky-dink.
I just stopped, on my way home from Ashland, and looked at some old junk at a farmer's place. He didn't have***** for old cars, but I saw a 6-71 huffer laying there.
He told me he was gonna pull the impellers out and take the aluminum in for scrap. I only had $14.00 cash, but he said that was enough.
$14.00 for a blower? Does that sound like a good deal?
I thought so. It's in the back of my truck.
