Hey I need to know what the bellhousing pattern is on a 270 GMC inline. Is it the same as a sbc/bbc?

    Thanks, Fred

Hey, I'm not clear on your question, but I'll give it a try.

On my '53 GMC 302", the bell-housing to block pattern is not at all like the upside-down V shape of the SBC/BBC/later inline 6. Mine was in an Army 2.5 ton 6x6 w/ an automatic.

I used a bell-housing from a late '50's pickup truck 235/261", the one w/ the two side mount pads at about a 45 degree angle. I have bolted up both a Muncie and a Camaro T-5 to this w/ no problems.

No, but it's the same as the 216/235/261 Chevy six.
