    ive never been one to scoff a a good hot 6,, they can produce some good horses,,, esp after a 52 desoto that could skid a pair of 215 14 tires no problem with a stock flattie ...

    good looking car ! ,, can i ask what your frame is built from ?

    2x4...1/4" wall! Stout enough for monster torque. '36 Ford f&r axles. Don't remember what springs, homemade friction shocks, split bones. Mostly other people's cast-offs.

    You need a flathead 6. Yes, I am biased, but a flathead 6 sits low and that gives better proportions. MoPar flathead 6's are nice and so are Pontiac and others. It's usually easy to find a good one as anyone with one in their car usually pulls it to install a V8.
