Wondering if there is such a thing as an 1157 6volt dual filament bulb? The bulb in there now is an 1157 and I'm hoping that it's a 12 volt and the cause to my problem. Any info is appreciated! Thanks, Jerry
Nope the 1157 is 12 volt only, should be pretty dim on 6 volt....Dont know the 6 volt number but shouldn't be hard to look up..........
I think it was a 1153 bulb ............. been so long since I dealt with that stuff, I would have to make sure . I know they made a Dual filiment headlight bulb as I still have some N O S . scrubba
The 6v version is 1154 (21/3 CP). IMHO, a better choice for 6v is the Super-Brite Bulb (14/50 CP) carried by Sacramento Vintage Ford (p/n 06143-6SB). Painting the insides of tail light buckets white also helps.
Everytime a question about 6volt wiring comes up the general response is always "check your ground" But yet 1157 is a12v bulb.
Haha... nope. They're in a '54 Ford mainline I recently picked up. Thanks for the compliments on the Caddy but it's currently tore apart going through an update.
