What number flasher are you guys using? I have a 29 A sedan and my dad has a 31 pickup. The sedan has a Truck-lite series 900 signal switch, the pickup has something from Signal-Stat, don't know the number. Both would flash the turn signals and the indicator on the switch 2 years ago. Then one of the flashers failed. I bought a replacement from NAPA numbered 535 and it would flash the turn signals, but not the indicator in either rig. We seldom used both rigs at the same time, so the flasher started getting switched back and forth. Eventually we misplaced the one that worked... imagine that. Now all we have are 535's for both and no inside indication. They are all 3 prong and no wiring has been changed. Is there something I'm missing, or do we just have the wrong number flashers?

535 is the correct 6v flasher. 3 terminal, X is the power in, L is the one to the switch and P is for the pilot. Should work. Be sure the switch is grounded good on the column.

Thanks, but 535 doesn't work. What ever the other one was (made by Ideal), it worked in both cars, 535 didn't work in either one. Still doesn't. have tried at least three 535's , all from China, even the NAPA unit came from China. Flashes the outside lights, not the indicator. Have to pull the flasher out of the sedan because the indicator stays on very dim with the turn lever in the off position on the sedan, not on the pickup. Will see if I can find an American made 535.

Okay, problem is solved. the answer is to not use the Chinese flashers. I ordered a pair of Ideal flashers off of ebay and fixed both cars. I had 2 Chinese flashers from ebay and one from NAPA, none of them would operate the inside indicator.
The inside indicators would not work in either car using Chinese flashers, but they both work fine now using NOS Ideal flashers.

Curious if the working units are still 535 units, or if they are different. If different can you give us the part number?

On the left in my photos is one of the Chinese version that wouldn't work. On the right is one of the Ideal brand (made in the USA) that does. Both are 535.
