Using a thermal 6 volt flasher, what wattage should each of the 4 bulbs be?
    Thanks, Sam

No idea what a thermal flasher is ... let's assume you have a normal 550 Tungsol flasher & dual filament park & taillight sockets. You'll use 1154 bulbs. If single element, then 1129, or 1133 if there's room. Don't use 1133s if you have plastic lenses.

Thanks for the reply. Thermal flashers use a bimetal strip that heats up to work as opposed to the newer electronic units. That tungsol 550 is a traditional thermal flasher. I can get my bulbs to light, but they don't flash. I used a 6 volt signal stat two prong flasher. I have 6.2 volts with the motor not running. Thought maybe I'm using the wrong bulbs. I think the flasher is bad.

Stick your arm out of the window! That was generally the "way" during the 6 volt era!

You might have a bad flasher, but you may also have poor ground circuits. You should be able to easily test the flasher. Remove it from the car, using a two bulb combo and some wire and clips, see what it does. If it works, concentrate on the ground path.
