  1. George,I understand Freddy never got to drive it in the race. Apparently blew up in practice or qualifying.
You notice the pane of glass for a windshield? that car was low budget. Harold said everything they could find in a junkyard they used. Mason had a standing order in the area for '36 straight backs and panes of glass.
Makes sense though, Harold said they built 6 of them in 66-67, Paul was hard on cars!

I remember the first time at a stock car race, Roger crashed through the turn 1 guard rail that blocked off the drag strip at Lancaster. I was amazed that he came out unhurt. It was either 1977 or 1978 because my brothers were doing an exibition run that night in their miniature dragster.

I don't think so. He always drove a red 11A. Called it the Coke machine.

Great Shot of Chet Hames coming off the Platform at Fonda/Corey. I found that on Net awhile back, my Dad loved it. Made it my screensaver.
My Parents, before they where married, would ride to Fonda w/chet and his wife.
My memories of Chet, he worked for Family owned "Hames Cleaners" . Saratoga Springs N.Y. He drove a 57' Chev Panel to deliver clothes for Laundrymat. When i was 4, he let me ride with him, moving all our clothes to new House. Great Guy.

I hate that cookie factory! I told my wife, a long time ago, not to buy any of their cookies. I won't eat them; they'll go right in the garbage. LOL

    Radford46:

In this picture of Jerry Cook at Islip, you will see the X-9 Chevette in the background owned by Frank Conway. That is one of the "Yankee" Modifieds (no offense taken) that Paul Radford drove at Islip. There was a few versions of the car over a two or three year period with the paint scheme being either more gold or more black over that period. I do not know if this is the exact one that Paul Radford drove. But. I do remember him driving it at the annual year end all star race and I believe he came in 5th. Someone can check the record books on that.

Yup, that's Seekonk. You can see the new wall behind the one shown. The did it in two seasons. So for one year there was a wide straightaway and a very tight one, like a D shape. Jeez, i think those shacks are still there.

Check out the Indian head silouette around the #12 on his car.Have had a hard time finding pictures of his cars too. Walt Wimer and some of the guys on 3Wide have come through recently though.
