Thanks for the picture of Pete Corey's Falcon. The picture below it of the Blue 135 is a Chevette driven by Pete Fiandaca of Fitchburg, MA. I used to compete against him at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH

  3. This looks a little like the Indiana State Fairgrounds "Indy Mile"!

    Am I right?

This is the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. There are 2 # 33's in the picture, one driven by Bill Wimble and the other most likely by Dutch Hoag. The 3 window coupe #111 is Kenny Shoemaker.

  12. I agree, that's Syracuse.

This was probably a Labor Day Race in the early to mid-60s. I don't think there was any other racing there all year long except that one. The BIG race in October started in '72. Buzzie won that and I was there watchin'.

I can remember being at one labor Day race with my dad where (I think) Nolan Swift in the 10-Pins lost his radiator in a warm-up or heat race. They replaced it and I think he went on to win the BIG race. That had to be in the late 50's or very early 60's.

One of those Labor Day races had a car go over the 3rd turn wall and kill a girl. Can't remember his name, but I think it was Lee Pennington?????

Hey Pete, I just started a project that would fit nicely in this thread. We'll be running it next year at Riverhead.

    Bullfather... what is your site?

  21. http://www.pitstoppitbull.com It's a weekly racing video site, working on getting more tracks to sned stuff, new videos and old videos from fans. Kinda like a racing youtube of sorts. It's an entertainment site. This year is my home track Riverhead Racewasy, Long Island had so many tracks running at one point besides the ones people are familiar with being Riverhead, Islip and Freeport. Marty Himes site has a list of tracks that used to run locally on Long Island.

It's a '37 Ford 5 window on a '96 troyer chassis. Pete, I know you would like to post stuff on your site during the off-season, but I would appreciate if you kept this on the down low for now, we want to suprise everyone when we roll it out of the trailer at warm-ups.

  27. cool cool, I'm down with it. If you'd like maybe we can do a few pieces and after you debut it we can show some before stuff and what not if you'd like. But awesome stuff my friend.
