hey Daveww1, your pictures are great.

A lot of history in these pictures. Car 72, Bruce "pee wee" Griffin earned himself quite a reputation as a "dirty" driver. Such as, he spins out Tasnady then jumps on his hood declaring I'm the best. In another incident in '70, he stuffed Joe Kelly in the fence at East Windsor. The whole modified feature came after him, he drove the 72 out of the pits and through the streets of Hightstown, N.J., to get away. His car hauler and crew giving the finger while crews chasing them with whatever in thier hands. Pee Wee was suspended for a season for that, not counting the other suspensions for "rough riding"

That's Steady Eddie Hoyle on the pole. The car number was fOrd. He's not leaning over in the cockpit. He had his seat mounted at and angle. This is one of the first cars I remember from my youth.[IMG]

    Dr. John,

I showed Dutch that pic of him in the Nichols Camaro when I saw him at Dundee (Black Rock) Speedway in 2009. I said it sure was a nice looking car, to which Dutch replied...."too bad it wasn't fast". He was right though.....more show than go.

Happy New Year, Bullfather and all the folks at 60's & 70's Vintage Oval Track Modifieds. I see everyone has been busy (like 15 pages worth) while I was enjoying some time over the holidays with the family.

Here are a few shots I have leftover of George Kent and the upstate NY mods. Then I have to get back to scanning some more material....

George Kent #26, Mickey Morollo #15 and Don Warren #44

Right on Terry1 with the Steady Eddie ID. I think that's George Summers behind him and Gentleman Jimmy Wilkins beside him. Remember that time well.
