  4. What's up with the flags out the passenger side windows? Was it to show they qualified for Trenton or something?

For all of you Modified fanatics, please join us at the 4th Annual Modified Reunion, held at New Smyrna Speedway on February 18th, 2011. Admission is $0.00, and everyone is invited

This is the same day as the Richie Evans Memorial 100, and also features a Vintage racecar display & Hot-Lap session.

Well over 125 of the greatest names in modified racing have been guests at this Reunion, and I guarantee you will see racers you may have only read about in years gone by. Many Hall of famers, as well as track regulars from all over the Northeast.

Former Drivers/Owners/Officials will also receive free Grandstand passes for that nights racing program, courtesy of the New Smyrna Speedway Management. All Vintage entries will receive 2 free Pit Passes as well.

This event is on Friday, February 18th, from Noon - 5:00 (races start at 7:00), and is open to any and all that would be interested.

For more information or a copy of previous attendees, please call or write to:

    Jerry Binner, 407-790-9724 or jbinner@att.net
Also, visit our (not yet updated) website at www.modifiedreunion.homestead.com and view/sign the Guest Book. Look around a little, there are some cool Modified pics in there also

Hope to see you all there...!

    OOPS!!!! THANKS Harold!!!! My mistake.

I knew the Chevette wore a few different bodies over it's life time in competition.
This means that the car in the picture (that I mistook for the real Cavalier) is actually the car that you have & are restoring (the Chevette).

I also knew that the Chevette body was on more than one Jarzombek family built from scratch chassis, as it was on the the one that Peggy Smith owned too. .. that has now been restored as it was origionally configured with a Vega body .. and was out (properly restored) for the first time last year.

So easy to get CONFUSED here. I'm glad that you and Ricky J. are around to keep everything straight (including me).

    THANKS AGAIN Harold. :)

The second picture on this thread is of Ken Meisenhelder who is the owner of KGM Videos in Agawam, MA. He drove car #4 (not this one) in 1969 at the Thompson Grand National race won by David Pearson. I know as I was in attendance. I remember seeing Ken's name in many rundowns of the GN's in that era.

Look him up for some great old racing videos from Riverside Park, Agawam MA, Stafford Springs Speedway on the dirt, Thompson Speedway, both in CT. He has lots of videos at kgmvideo.com.

This is Hooker Hood from Memphis probably somewhere around 1970. This thing had a Ford and seemed twice as loud as anything else on the track.

And this car won ?!?!?!?! That's great. That is bare bones racing. No windshield, no firewall, no goggles , or shoulder belt, or helmet?? Hard to say. But I appreciate it.

Al Hansen's #4, the #25 pictured above, and Joe Mammolito's #31 (as well as George LeBlanc's #22 in New England) all had that same sude stripe design - I always thought that looked cool as hell on a Pinto. Which one of these guys started it?
