Nice photo. I took one (hopefully I remembered to attach it) probably same time same day. I did it with a Kodak Brownie and I was 17 and not the greatest photographer, but I thought it interesting. Note some of the same folks in the background. I think it was warm-ups on the Saturday before the 1972 opener.

Hi; let me correct a few things, thank you. Jim is my husband. He is still alive and well at 61. I met Jim after his father FRED SNAPE passed away. Fred built the #26 that was black and white and ran on dirt in New England. Freds car was track champion in the mid 50s at places like Rhythm Inn. Jim and I took some of the photos that you have posted. It would be nice if you put the photo credit on each one you used from us. We still own all copyrights to our photos, thanks. Sincerely, Crystal & Jim Snape
PS: drivers for the 194 were Danny Ferland, and before that Ed Cormie. After Danny was Ronnie Bodge, and Ed Stone drove it in the mid 1990s.

#9043, 9044: Marty Radwick, Moe Ghersey, both photos by Jim Snape. Moe was photographed at Westboro. Marty was at Claremont, with the 55 of Dwight Jarvis beside. The 194 has the owner in the drivers seat: Ed Cormie. Photo by Jim. 45 and 92 at the front line up was taken at Claremont by us as well. 12 Mod speeding by at Stafford was taken by me before I got my Pentax K1000 and tele lenses. Not bad for a 110 shot through the fence. 9054: Photo by Jim Snape. We don't mind you borrowing our photos, but we do insist on the photo credit. If you wish to see more of our work, please visit us at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=1618313294&sk=wall&v=wall and SAY HI! Thanks again, Crystal & Jim

I know about CODA. (Robert) Bob Echo, my father, was the track promoter in 1979. I had a position at the track that year; "Gopher to the tower!" - I made sure the scorers and announcers didn't go hungry.

I remember when he designed the CODA logo. That was a great year. I met a lot of great people. Dave "The Sunkist Kid" Bibbens (spelling) was probably my favorite personality of the bunch.

Speaking of "keep history alive"... Anyone remember the special 100 lapper at Monadnock in the late 70's ('78 maybe?) where Richie Evans, Geoff Bodine, and a bunch of invaders showed. In the feature Bodine, in Armstrong's #1 dumped Punky Caron for the lead. Punky had the car repaired and came back on the track many laps down. He limped his wounded 121 coupe around the apron of the track until Bodine came up on him and as Bodine went around the outside of him Punky parked him. The crowd erupted and Evans went on to win the race.

I take exception to the statement that Ed Cormie was the owner of the 194. I was the owner from 1978 thru about 1982 until we had a falling out over finances. Also, Crystal, maybe you remember me from my being married to your classmate Carlene Scott.

I do remember you being married to Carlene. Seems she is quite happy with her new husband. The photo in this conversation was taken when Ed was the owner.
