  4. Pete, the last two Slater photos are sharp!

  5. I was about to head to St. Johns Pa. for a race today at Mountain Speedway. But due to other circumstances (it was suppose to be yesterday, rain) I'm home about to head to film the local go-kart kids. It's great to see future stars and kids off the streets leanring and growing with their families. But I'm home for now and I'm able to post photos!!!! whooooo!

There's a Billy Rafter car I never saw. Met him on a number of occasions, even had him at our house once when I was a kid. My brother and I took a ride in his car after he won at Spencer Speedway once. Look how far back in that car he had to sit.

P.S. I believe "Bentley Warren" is still racing Super Modifieds at Oswego Speedway

that picture of billy harmon with the rollbar on his neck is kinda creepy...
looks like he lived through it?

  11. Yes he did, heard he walked away. Creepy yes! But remember he was also able to pull his helmet off, so the bar must of had some room, not much!!! He was lucky he made it out alive, safety is something you should NOT be cheap on! It kinda reminds me a bit of friend of mine Jimmy Blewitt, his nerf bar killed his brother over two years ago. Just a freak incident racing on the track and a couple car collilded. Lucky for Billy Harmon, he was able to walk and race again!

  12. One of the best bull ring races I ever saw was between Billy Spade in that last photo of the 15X and Charlie J. in his coupe. They ran door handle to door handle, lap after lap after lap at Islip Speedway back in 1969/70. Boy, what a show they put on. Back and forth they went. I don't even recall who won the race, just the action during the race. Though I do believe Charlie took the Gold home.

Two questions? The Bob Janesey number 57. I counted 7 pipes so what was the powerplant under that very closed up hood. The next question is the Bobby Vee car X6. Lots of crome and nice paint. Was it fast? because it looks like the car with the most money spent. I have really enjoyed this thread.. Thank You again... Bobby.V no not the driver of X6..

The X-6 was fast, it had some good drivers such as Tom Commerford, John Blewett Jr., it wasn't a super high dollar car, compared to others, it ran mosly at Wall Stadium and I think success was only moderate.

  30. rsca that first picture is awesome! I loved that each car was different from the others!
