Here's a composite I made from two badly-damaged photographs: TOP -- Ed Anchor (55) leads Roger Treichler (1971); and BOTTOM -- Richie Evans races Cam Gagliardi (1971) at Lancaster (NY) Speedway. Gordon Reinig photos.

  9. Nice Hewitt #19, you can tell it's an east coast car, all channel and section, no chop, LOL.

  10. The #10 Flemke and #33 coupe, great classic shot.

Western N.Y. auto racing legend Art Clark (West Seneca, N.Y.), 1969, at Lancaster (N.Y.)) Speedway. Gordon Reinig photo. This was Art's "convertible coupe" -- sometimes he would use the coupe body and drive it as a traditional Modified, other times he'd drop the (full) Dodge Dart body on it and run it as a Late Model. Art told me it actually drove better as a Dart...

Richie Evans' first Pinto's first win -- Lancaster (NY) Speedway, July 1, 1972. Gordon Reinig photo. Evans brought his trusty coupe and his new Pinto to Lancaster on this humid Saturday night (I was there!) and decided to run the Pinto only in the heat to see how it ran. It ran so well in the heat he decided to run it in the 30-lap feature, and it won!

This is the last time the old Gordon Treichler-sold-to-Phil-Edwards-sold-to-Bill-Bitterman-sold-back-to-Phil Edwards-sold-to-Jerry Ciancio coach was seen. Ciancio reskinned it as a Gremlin to fit Lancaster's silly "Series '70" rules (no tin older than '70) in 1973. After Ciancio drove it, no one knows where it went or who has it... GORDON REINIG PHOTO.
