The people I hang out with, most are 60 and older... while hanging out at our house in havasu, on Thursdays, all the hot rodders go down and park along the main street and hang out... the street lines up with cool cars... I had a fake 32 roadster, but if we had a couple over, we couldn't go because we needed 2 more seats...my 53 is a 2 door... but one just has to see for themselves how hard it is for a 70 yr old couple to get out of the back seat.. so we usually stick the wives in the back.. so my mission was to get something old that was more limo/taxi.. type....started with the idea that I would buy 32/34 ford on the cheep, maybe even do like the rest and remove the out side handles....that always makes everybody think it's a 2 door, right....LOL..magic ....so I started my quest.... sticker shock!!!! what happened to buying a 32 for cheep cause it was a 4door... or any other hot rod...so to get the price level down, I went looking at model A's... model A's have a huge rear seat, there's more room in the back than in the front... entry and exit is a breeze.... and the suicide rear doors make it a cool looking mobster cab when you pull up and everybody unloads... .so, to fool everybody I put the 32 gas tank and 32 grille on... I still get the ol timer that walks up and says. is that a 44? So with that done...31 Cdan taxi..perfect for me. there's a few on here that try to hide on a hotrod forum and claim to be hotrodders that have to do the same boring comment everytime they see a 32 grille on a model A..... model A's came with model A grilles because ford hadn't started making the better looking 32 grille yet... and pretty sure that if it was an option, they would have sold very few A grilles.. so here goes... and it's pretty much the same as " Is that a real car??? did you build it? " it is so refreshing to see a model A grille on a model A instead of a bellybutton 32 grille" LOL....NEWS FLASH!!!! ALL MODEL A'S CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH MODEL A GRILLES.. AND ALL STOCK MODEL A 's LOOK THE SAME.....MODEL A STOCK car shows are like pouring a bowl of popcorn on the kitchen counter.... look'n at every piece and trying to pick out the one you like best...boring AF....
Reminds me a little of my dad's '31 which he sold to my sister for a 1000 bucks before he past but my brother in law does not drive it cuz he's to big! built and painted lacquer in '61, filled roof, '39 juice brakes . 65 HP banger and Mitchell over drive.
