Technical 60 hp flathead

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wood remover, Sep 11, 2015.

  1. picked up a good running 60 hp flathead , so I was wondering if there is any way to tell what year of
motor it would be without pulling the oil pan ? It is not tin sided . I am kinda hoping it is a 40 motor
Guy gave up on a midget project and I picked up the motor , a cyclone in/out box and the cowl style steering box

40 has a longer crank snout and pulley setup like this. Also the crankcase breather is in the intake manifold so there is no 1"+ hole in the back of the block by the bell housing on the driver's side.

need pics, or plans, of what this is going in

  4. Engine is a 40 , no plans for it right now , as I have 2 - 38 ,39 rebuilt engines currently in my model t's
The deal also included nos 40 rods an an extra oil pan , also the cowl steer and in/out box
there is also a good aluminium body , but I have no interest in building or restoring a midget
will likey never use the cowl steer or in/out box but they were part of the deal ,all or nothing 006.JPG 007.JPG 009.JPG 004.JPG 005.JPG 002.JPG 010.JPG 013.JPG
