60 Olds 88 Power brake upgrade question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BROCK ART STUDIO, May 25, 2012.

  1. Good morning HAMBERS,

I'm working on a 1960 Oldsmobile 88 Dynamic Fiesta Wagon for my daughter.

I just finished upgrading the power brakes, using a (new) 1990 Chrysler 8" booster. The old booster had a vacuum line T at the booster which also fed a big reserve(?) tank on the fender.
Can I eliminate that T and reserve tank, with the new style booster?

    Thanks, in advance,

    Jeff Brock

yes. be sure to leave the little can on the firewall for the switchs in the dask tho.

  3. This wasn't the little can on the firewall tho, this is a big, lunch box sized, triangulated can on the fender well.
On that note, we could NOT find the source (of vacuum supply) for the dash controls ??
It had been taped off. The big can on the fender well only had one 1/2" line , that came from the old booster.
