Has anyone ever used the common 60s Chevrolet truck master cylinder( brakes and clutch master) as a dual master cylinder just for brakes specifically drum front and rear? Thanks

somebody talked about that here a long while ago. A balance bar from pedal to both bores.

I'm not sure what the design of the bar needs to be, to be able work ok if one side fails if a hose pops.

But you need to add a stock residual valve & it's round black rubber washer, in the clutch bore, same one as in the brake side.

  3. Not worth the bother. Just get a proper dual resivor master cyl. Don't risk marginal brakes.

Thanks to both of you, never thought of the residual valve but couldn't we simply use one in line? Safety is of course a major concern always, we are trying to get away from the 1964 master cylinder on this old hot rod and replace it with a better/safer system. If it wasn't on the firewall it wouldn't be all that important. A big, ugly Mustang cylinder just seems wrong as does a pair of new Wilwoods. Thanks again.
