I want to do an FX type deal with my 63 Impala. Has anyone seen anybody move the rear forward on the X type of frame? I dig the look of the shifted wheel wells. Help.....

  2. Have seen a 62 chevy made into a "Gasser",and what they did was build a convential style frame and remove the "X"..

Recently saw a 61 bubble top for sale and it had a 2x3 frame from front to back.

    good luck

Hey, I have been thinking about this same thing on a 62 Bel Air. I havent done anything, so I too am interested in this. I have planned to remove a section out of the middle of the X to bring the rear ahead, and possibly modifying it to use a single drive shaft. I am also considering using a straight axle out of a 58 chevy pickup, and making my own front frame rails. Not to hyjack but I am also very interested in this.
