You don't see one of these every day. Especially as badass as this one.

More 60's style... Probably one of the baddest Model A sedans ever built.

I have a question, I'm new to all this so bare with me. What engines were commonly used on a true period correct 60's styled hotrods? I'm assuming high HP motors that were attainable back then like Cadillac 390's, Buick Nailheads, Oldsmobile Rockets, etc. But were Chevy 427's ever used? I know that they first came out in 1966 as a corvette motor and I'm assuming no because they were either 1.too new 2.hard to get or simply because most of the hot rod's I'm referring to were already built.

And when I say 60's style, I'm referring to something like Teemu's T. I'm assuming this was the style from the early to mid 60's? Feel free to correct me on anything I say. My brain is thirsting for knowledge.

Lots & lot's of Small-block Chevys… w/smatterings of all those other engines you mention… plus Rat Motors, Hemis, and still a good bunch of flatheads too! & like the guy above says lots of 4 Barrels, & Rock Crushers, w/Hurst floor shifters… find someone with a good collection of period car mags and parooze 'til you head spins. Best way to get started.

  12. SBCs, early Hemis, Rockets, Nailheads, and Caddys were the majority. Flatheads were dying but not dead. Big Block Chevies even didn't exist until 1965 so I don't consider them "period correct" hot rod motors; that's muscle car stuff.

Besty34, that looks brilliant, tried looking for it at the hayride but our paths didn't cross. Love the outline striping, i had planned the same but ran out of time pre-hayride.

  29. noclubjoe, as much as I like wide whites - you NAILED the mid sixties with the narrow whites and unpolished 5 spokes. NICE!
