Thanks...If I had put a '32 grill on it, some people would have said it was the "easy" way out, and not imaginative enough for what the rest of the car was. If I had put a 38/39 Ford truck grill on it, it would have gotten the same response as the '33...some wouldn't like it. Tractor grill...rat rod. I didn't want a stock T or A grill...and I'm not much into one-off home made deals...they can go soooooo wrong (and I'm from Florida, so...)!!! I had to use that grill on something!
In the middle of all the thrashing to get my heap ready to drive to Billetproof, I must have missed this thread. All I can say is...WOW! Seems like you just picked up the body and now it's nearly done. You guys rule. The car looks awesome. I love the shift knob too. I understand you won't have it at the show but I can't wait to see it. Maybe we can all get together soon for a garage crawl or BBQ. See ya' Friday. Mike
Jon, The 'T' is turning out great, I really like the style, color and theme to it. Your a Mad-Fabricator and fast It's got "The-Look" ! Glenn
i dont usually add my 2 cents, and i know its too late, but i think it would look even better with a white firewall. but the car looks awesome either way!! really nice work
Funny...a white firewall was in the plan's...dut to the firewall contsruction, it made it difficult to make a difinitive separation that would look clean..so the paint was applied all over. Tim MBL
jon.. that T rules and it really has the look too..all i can say is wow!!! that was fast!your going to need a bigger garage.....see ya at the show....dave
Looks *****n' ****o likey. Like the tiki theme idea too. But when you painted it you should have moved the gun left to right and not right to left, just my opinion. Oh, and the grille....I don't know.....maybe you should have used a Weber gas grill instead. Again just my opinion.
I'm not just a newbie Dave, I'm your "newbien brutha"...mutha! OK that was really stupid, and that's ok too. I have a reputation to keep up.
Thanks guys! Yeah...it was going to have a white firewall to counter all that green flake...but as MBL stated...once the firewall was all smoothed-out and molded, it didn't lend itself for a good "break" to split the colors. It is going to get a big old white vinyl roof though! And...as far as a channel job...I'm 6'2"...and it's allready chopped about 7 inches, I'll have to practically sit on the floor as is, so a channel was out of the question! The car did come together fast...I was set to put one of my flatheads in it, when the Stude V8 became available, so that added some changes...and a ****-load of $ for finned aluminum parts and speed stuff! My other one has a white firewall and roof insert, so I'm aware of the impact that the color contrast has!
Ha! If I had painted it, it would be a ****py enamel job! That's Ralph's handywork...he paints the glossy ones!....but he does move the gun right to left though...what an amateur!
That T is coming out great! I remember seeing in a pile in Glenns garage, Hell of a job! I always like it when you move the gun up and down myself.
Wow! That Killer Kandy Tall Tee is really killer. It is making me think about taking mine a whole new direction. Either that, or I've got to start looking for another sedan body to use for one like this. Just when I thought that I had all the T bodies that I'd ever need...
Great thread and great car. I love the motor and the color. I would really like to know what the steering column/box are.
I believe the steering box is a 60's mustang. Not sure but I think the colum is one that sold by one of the hot rod supply places. Tim MBL
Did you notice this thread? There's my old Model T Sedan, done in very sixties style. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251816
The only way I like green is flaked...looks awesome. I wanted all white in the inside of my fiddie fo and choose blue with white piping instead...think i'm gonna be pleased in the long run. Nutin looks better than white ..except when its dirty and worn. Congrats man
Thanks guys! The white interior in my coupe is impossible to keep clean...but it looks awesome. We're doing the "tiki" themed interior on this sedan...it should be a lot easier to keep clean...but a lot more flamable!
Update...The roof is on. It looks good, and offsets some of the green! I got a few more things for the interior, but still not ready to get it all together yet.
