I'm lookin' for those old 60's tires, that were so common back then.
I've seen them a lot in old magazines on Rods Muscle Cars and Race Cars.

They are mostly a bit wider, and have a Good Year or Firestone lettering, and a gold, or white maybe even red or blue stripe above the lettering. Were they called wide oval? Or do I mean sth. else?

I can't find a picture at the moment, nor did google give me more information.

Anyone knows what I mean? Thanks.

Any pictures are welcome on 60's redline/whitewalls/letters etc.

    Thanks!

Thanks alot! I know that site, but they do not have what I want.

These tires were very popular in the late 60's, and old HRM's are full of 'em, but I do not have a scanner...

The line sits far out on the edge of the tire, and usually there is a lettering below it...

I think you are talking about goodyear bluestreaks. They are the 1 with the blue stripe. they were mostly race tires but guys used them on hot rods and show cars. there were sports car specials, speedway specials (indy tires), stock car specials and dragway specials. there were similar tires in the firestone line that had a gold stripe

Yes, that sounds like it! I have just looked at a Nomad wheelstander who has the blue stripes.

And I made a picture from old HRM that has Firestones. Are they available anywhere? I NEED them. These are the coolest tires ever!

I think what you are referring to were the 70 series tires of the late '60s and early '70s. Firestone "Wide Ovals" and Goodyear "PolyGlas GT" were two of the prevalent tires that were OEM on new muscle cars. Blackwall, very narrow white, red or gold stripe were available on certain models.
B F Goodrich and Uniroyal also supplied tires to the manufacturers. The Uniroyal "Larado" was one of the cheapest junk tires that was supplied as an OEM tire.

Those look like the p***enger car tires. I think he is referring to the indy tires. goodyear is doing a repop bluestreak sports car special in the sizes that the cobras used. But they are not a very accurate reproduction, the lettering is way too big and no blue stripe. I have been looking to no avail for 2 years for a pair of goodyear bluestreak speedway specials in 12.00 x 15 for the back of the capn pepis roth car.

Mmmmmhhh. Doesn't sound too good. The only way would be old ones then.
And they are probably not to get in any condition... :(
