I'm a 1959 Chevrolet guy, but this is the one car that gives me major wood and makes me think about switching from Chevrolet to Pontiac:
Here's my 64 GOAT Have had it for many years, its Like an old friend. Finally got tired of the PG and installed a TH350 with a Gear Vendors overdrive. Made for a sweet road car.
Did that Gear Vendors OD fit under the floor, or did you have to cut it to clear? I've got a 67 El Camino I was thinking about doing something with. Same basic floor pan I think.
..anybody have a new fuel sending unit for a 1961-64 Pontiac Safari wagon? I also have a set of fiberglass fenders for a 1961 big Pontiac for sale.
Well Pitts, none will top your last post for sure. Here is some of my junk. These are 'keepers' to build for my planned Pontiac Heaven museum '57 2 dr sedan with ps and grey int. been collecting some parts including nos quarter stainless and a 3-2 and 4bbl set up. Its an automatic, from Oregon and has been off the road since around 1978. Still has its old plates on it. I may end up just getting it running and drive it around as a beater before going through the whole car. Like the color combo too.
Here is my '55 2 dr ht. Very clean car and will be a fairly easy resto. Would like to make it a stick if I can find some more of the needed parts like st column and linkage. Here my 66 GTO is pulling it to its new home. This pic was taken in Globe, Arizona.
'60 Catalina coupe is in halfway decent condition. Should not be too challenging to restore. windows are painted to protect the original interior that is in very good shape.
Does anyone have any more information about this motor? More pictures? I've googled it, but haven't really found anything more.
Just found this thread and had to post..... heres my 64 2+2 STOLEN and never recovered, was a 389-2bbl hi comp 4 spd posi, that was drag raced out of DFW Texas out of the Taylor Pontiac dealership and heres the one I have been after for 15 years.....hope to bring it home as soon I sell the Dodge, tripower 4spd 4:88posi parked in 1965!
Hey Pat, Yes, and thanks for taking such a nice shot of her greatest ASSet!. The weather shure was nice back then, wasnt it -Brett
Here's my '61 laurentian. I've just installed 2" drop spindles and front discs and I'll be cutting the rear coils soon.
I wanted to add I have some nice 64 left overs since mine was stolen.....complete dash with nice chrome auto on column steering column and wheel(wheel lnot real nice) and the tail trim for a 64 GP that needs some work and a 64 cat, plus some misc parts and pieces, if anyones intrested Id unload on the cheep!
This is a kick ass thread. Love these pontiacs. Would like to get my hands on a 61 catalina or 62 grandprix
Hey strato... Bitchin' ride. Like the wheel and tire combo. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can drive mine..
Thanks. I like 'em simple too, but every once in awhile there's a voice in my head whispering "scallops"...
Great thread! I'm working on a 61 Pontiac drag car. It's a Canadian Pontiac so it was built with a Chevrolet drive train. This particular car came with an inline Chevy six cylinder engine but a 348 was an available option. We're going to power this one with a stroked 409. We're hoping to have this thing ready to race by mid May.
No, I haven't started a thread on the HAMB but I will do that once the car is a little farther along. I did start a thread on the Canadian Poncho site. http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/forum.spark?aBID=118110&topicID=39669782&p=3
