I found one for $1500. It's cherry, looks completley stock, I checked it out for rust and there are 2 holes about the size of a quarter on the floor boards, any pictures of what one would look like customized?

  3. sweet car for a kustom, jump on it. If it has a six, visit fordsix.com for tech and classicinlines.com for speed parts.

cshabang , you arent around Saybrook are you, or the guy that bought it? I saw a noice 4 door red comet down there a few weeks ago, along with a totally original 62/63 impala 4 door with the old man driving it every where everyday!

Ah memories. I had a buddy in High School in the early 70's that owned a red 2 dr 61 Comet. That old Comet was a Mustang slayer. Ate em up a spit em out. It would ignite the tires and it ran really good. After school was out that summer the engine was getting tired and he decided to rebuild the old 260 cu in. The rebuild kit was ordered including new pistons and rings. Just one problem the pistons wouldn't go into the cylinders. They were too big! WTF? Did they sell us a kit for a 289? Nope, it turns out the engine was a 221 cu in V8. I didn't even know there was such an engine till then.

Hell on second thought maybe the car was a Meteor. I don't remember anymore.

4"drop in the back and skirts and some cheesey 13" hubcaps. Fun cars, a little sluggish with the six cylinder and 2 speed tranny.

I think the guy sold it. I'm going to call him when I get off work tonight. I'm hoping not.

A '61 Comet looks like a customized Falcon.

If you have any interest in it, and it's available, buy it. They're cool little cars.
