Hey guys, today the turn signals suddenly stopped working in the '34. This car has a '61 T'bird column. The lever felt "funny", the indicator light flashed once while I wiggled the lever, then, nothing. The left brake light no longer works, not juiced. I had a similar 36223168_10217342991589414_3501657660715958272_n-2.jpg problem with the turn signal switch on our '65 Ranch Wagon, but it uses a different switch than the 'bird. Am I on the right track, before I start ordering parts?

sure, but I'd take it apart first, and see what broke. And get the parts I need.

I did, nothing was visibly broken, I didn't want to have it apart and not be able to take it to the Relix Riot next weekend in case new bits didn't come. It's only 2 miles away, so, I can hand signal for a week. ;)

maybe you didn't take it far enough apart! :)

Be careful driving without signals, you might look like most other drivers

  6. If the lever feels "funny" I think you didn't get in deep enough.

Look hard at the plastic flipper. My problem was they get old and brittle.

No plastic in that design. I have a lever ***embly in my shed; saved a T-bird steering wheel and the upper column parts to try to use on a Falcon. The switch itself is in a pocket on the p***enger side of the column, and the lever moves the operating pin back and forth. Couple of ways the lever fails. Let me see if I can put my hands on that piece tonight and if you want it, PM me and it's yours.
