I would sell it pretty cheap to someone who would finish it up since it's just been sitting around at my place and that kinda breaks my heart. Would be great if it stayed in the area too since I'd really like to see it around.

If you think you or someone you know would be interested in it, let me know and I'll give you the full rundown of what it has, what's been done and what needs to be done. Still needs work underneath but you'd have the only one ever.

  2. Sorry to see that you want to let her go, seems you have quite an attachment.
She's quite unique and deserves attention. If I didn't have my own commitments to other projects, I would've been interested. Only thing it would not be a racer, it would become a mild custom. Probably painted a dark color and lowered.
I thought I'd ask to see if you thought what you would like to do. Maybe a dream or just a resto.
    Anyway, it's cool.
I have a few builds that are running around Wisconsin. Never saw them again after I sold them, except for a particular green van.
That van will haunt me as something I should've never done. My punishment is to have to see it every once in a whileo_O.

I saw you run at the track in Chandler, Indiana in the summer of 1972! I was there in the pits helping my friend. He had a 1963 Plymouth 426 Wedge SS/EA car! That wagon was fast and I think you took the SS win that day. Hope you found the car!

Thia pic was taken back in Sept at a photo shoot for Mopar Muscle as the track was getting ready to close but they were nice enough to let me do a few burnouts in the burnout box for the photo shoot. My 63 should be in Mopar Muscle in the next few months. Ron

I realize a lot of these are not Super Stocks but they are all the body styles that we love. But if these offend you guys then I will delete them. 74843316-630B-4782-B2E1-10B1D54F2DDF.jpeg F1EF9E2A-651E-41A5-AA19-639A14934DCA.jpeg 4D8D363C-65FE-45BC-8CD7-9E4DE690151C.jpeg 5D5F3950-E9E8-42AF-BD45-8C2B0B803993.jpeg C1AFD7BF-7FA8-494D-82AF-7D260FE6A9BE.jpeg

Hi everybody. I'm an avid model builder from down in Baton Rouge, LA and I'm starting into a project to build the Melrose Missile III more or less as it appeared in 1963. There are a lot of pictures of the car out there but one thing has me stumped. Looking at the well known photo from Half Moon Bay (posted below) I can see that there is some signage on the rear panel between the taillights but I can't read it. It looks like one line might say "Melrose Comp Shop" or something like that and the rest just can't be made out at all. Does anybody have a good photo of the rear of the car that could help me out? I've already been in touch with Bob Mosher and he didn't have anything on it.

Not sure what the builder was going after with this build but what appears to be 8-2 barrels on a 65 Dodge B-body would be VERY unlikely on a car in that era (not to mention difficult to tune). Anyone know the details on this car? Maybe he was going for the tallest intake setup?

Pretty neat car for the most part but I was thinking the same thing, two eras, kinda looks like a fish outa water to me.
Back in the late 60's, before I became a bonafide Chevy guy I really was hung up on these, both the Dodge and Plymouth post cars.
Hey EM, stop by when you're in the neighborhood.

Will do Doug! My pickup is almost running now but will get in tovisit one way or another. Are you by-chance going to make it out to the "door-car" event at Woodburn this weekend? My brother and I will be there and would enjoy meeting up. If not how about the "Beaches" event on Wednesdays? We haven't gotten in yet but plan to.

On this 65 Dodge, I agree it looks great. I'm thinking the carburetors are "dummies" and he has injection hidden in the tunnel ram manifold (they're just complicated looking velocity stacks!)

  25. This guy drives this Dodge to the Meltdown Drags for at least the last 5 years and raced it. Those are carburetors on a all aluminum second gen Hemi. I'm not sure about now, but when I talked to the owner a couple years ago he told me the carbs tend to ice up in cool weather.

  26. I ran a 8- carb set up similar to that. On a cold day they will frost up at higher speeds. A few times I did get ice on the outside.

daveydeuce, You know a lot of history of 1960's Alaska drag racing. Ever hear or see a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 427 Factory lightweight race up there? Any insight or history of one raced at Anchorage, Polar, or any other drags in Alaska? -Robert 218-251-6928
