Hey guys- I'm building a 62 Cadillac 390 and was wondering about cylinder head swaps. 331 heads on a 390 or anything like that. I have seen some talk about running 390 heads on the older 331's but are there any advantages to doing it the other way? or am I just wasting our time with this? Should I just build the engine the way it came?

    Thanks

390 heads flow better than 331 heads, no sense in switching backwards to 331 heads.

390 heads are where its at. thats why everyone puts 390 heads on their early engine. I think moly rings need a fresh bore to seal up good.

To be honest if you have a pair of heads that aren't cracked you should do a happy dance.
