I have my suspicions, but it's been quite a few years since I flew in there.

  10. It is a bit of a jump from E (E 128.821 D 164.230) but I've said all along that we aren't planing on any records this year, just getting a feel for the truck. This winter I'll be puting a few more $ into the engine and we'll se what next year holds. ;) Sometime I may go back to "E" I think that would be an easy  record for this truck. Charlie said I could use the "Brick" engine if I like, it's a bolt in mod, his truck did 124+ with it and I think the Uni is a little slipperier. (if that's a word :p)

Looks even better than the "concept picture" that we started with...

Enjoyed the entire build from the original axle flip thread to present. Liked the pic of your old house with your dad's champ, I still have my dad's champ he bought in 1963.

  16. A lot of people learned to fly in those, my first plane was actually a "Chief" still an Aeronca though, Dad liked that. ;)

    Looks great Tim!

My first plane was an old straight tailed Cessna 172. I gradually moved up to a 210.

  19. Like this? ;)

That one was mine. If you ever saw the prototype 210 with a strait tail, I liked the looks of those. I have flown a 205, basically a fixed gear 210, I believe they are on the same type cert. :)

funny! just noticed the time I posted this.

Here's a picture of our Champ that we had for 25 years...7AC modified to 7CCM (90 hp Military L-16B conversion).

And a friends "Chief on steroids"...(85 hp with 27" Alaska Bushwheels tires on the mains, fat tail wheel and vortex generator kit...flies at about 25 mph).

When do you leave for Bonneville? I'll be out there later on the 13th and maybe all day on the 14th. I'd love to finally meet you, and see Jake in person!

PS Wish Todd could be out there as well.

    Tim,
Excellent work! Cant wait to see it and hear it! One of my favorite things is how smooth it runs.

Oh, and nice pics, what could be better than Bonneville cars, y blocks and good looking gals!

Careful posting pictures of the Chief with Bushwheels, you will get busted by the HAMB police for non traditional.
