What a fun cruiser that's going to be. I'll tell ya what, once you start riding around topless, you're never gonna want a top over your head again.

StephenFields can bring those valve covers to Detroit in two weeks and you can pick them up here and save the shipping costs.

  2. Nice to see more people appreciating 62's! This is my summer driver, doubles as a pick-up (no back seat)! Makes a great driver with 5.0 ,T-5, disc brakes front and rear sway bars. Where were you in 62? ANYBODY out there have a set or even one " SUNLINER " quarter scripts ???

    Are your Astros reversed?

Nice build. Not sure on calling it 'early lowrider' just because you're planning to run hydraulics, but either way it'll be a nice looking car.

You, and like every other Iron Lord wants to paint their cars Pagan Gold. You all are Gold Whores.

So how did you get the color for your sedan? Poor mans gold?:D:D I would second guess myself about painting it gold if I had a yellow sedan. I always think variety is nice but I also think that it's a proper color for the '62 so either will be cool.

The Galaxie is not going to be Pagen Gold, more of a traditional color of gold The color on the Sedan is San Diego Gold. Poor Mans Gold? You know I am like Ron, SO filthy rich and have enough money. You dont even have a clue how much money I have, I dont even need to work!......LOL BIG FUCKIN INTERNAL JOKE HERE GUYS! I have loved the color gold FOREVER. And since there is a million colors of gold, surely I will have enough variety in my garage...lol.

Not that your doing it up original, but 62's came in "Castillian" gold. Just needs some flake to make it pop.

OK guys sorry I havent updated in a while. The Galaxie is coming along nicely. JeremyJames has been working on the metal work in the trunk. It is going to have the coolest custom trunk ever. We have cut the entire trunk out and have completely redesigned it. Lotsa cool points there. Its a slow process but work is getting done. I have officially picked the color it is going to be now. I now have EVERYTHING to complete the car.. tires are already mounted on the rims..seats, door, panels, kick panels, have all been upholstered roll n pleat in while leather and are freakin amazing. I am really looking forward to getting this car in the paint booth very soon! After I get it out of the paint booth I am going to load it up and take the whole car to the upholster and get the carpet installed, dash and trunk roll and pleated, and the new white convertible top installed. Taking longer than I was hoping but damn I am pumped! Ill post pics soon! Stay tuned

Here are a couple photos of Jeremy J's work on sinticket's (Dustin) '62 Galaxie. I help Jeremy pull the body off the frame on saturday but prior to this Jeremy had been working on a complete hand built trunk which will house the 5.20 mounted on a shiny supreme as a focal point. The car is really going to be clean. Should have it to the Detroit Autorama this year so look out for it.

Anyways, if you guys are looking for some fucking rad sheet metal work Little Jeremy is a whiz.

What a beautiful site in person. Like I said.....clean.

    Frame is loose!

Lot more work ahead but it should be slick enough to eat off of when he is done.

Shot from under the new trunk sheetmetal.

Ahhhhh, Jeremy J. Filthy and Fresh at the same time. How does he do it?

Alright that's pretty much it as for as updates. Dustin has some shots of the engine that his uncle rebuilt and it's looking pretty tasty too.

Just ran across this build thread, really cool, love the trunk floor fabrication!
Saw earlier posts debating 14" wheels with discs brakes. I know at least 71 and up Torinos had 14" wheels with discs because I've seen them in the junkyards around here.
I happen to own the 62 Merc somebody pictured earlier in this post. I cut just over 2 coils up front and 4.25" blocks in the rear. Wheels are 14x7 chrome reverse. Still rides and drives fairly nice, just a little rougher up front since the stops don't have far to go before they hit.

As far as color choice goes, you could stick with a FoMoCo color that I'm very partial such as '61 T-bird Aqua that I used on my Buick. You might love it with your white interior. (see pics)

I used granada spindles/discs on my '58 Ranch and I'd rather have the drums. No booster we tried would work, went back to no booster, just been using it that way. Every expert I know was stumped. (I sure don't know!) It just seems like with discs the same parts on the same kind of car work differently in different cases. Witchcraft I tell you.

****UPDATE*****Here are a few quick pics to revive this thread...lol LOTS of work been done to this car. JeremeJames has busted his ass on the metal work on this car. Will be going to paint this week. With all the interior etc put back in the car, it will go on down about another 3/4" layin the frame super close or on to the ground.

I have this build bookmarked. I have a '63 Galaxie 500 2 door hardtop(Box top) that I'm going the same route with. Look forward to learning from your build.

    way way way cool build...

if only i didnt have to put my 64 vert bagged up for sale! ill miss her for sure

  28. Todd, you're such a whore, lol. The trunk floor is dead sexy! My only suggestion, shave the "Lowrider Special" lettering off those Coker 5.20's. Car will be a killer though, for sure!
