Love that look...instead of finding another set of chrome reversed wheels for the rear, you could paint the wheels 1/2 white and 1/2 black, add a set of pie crusts and you have an instant S/S drag racer from the day (you know, with that sinister buzzin' 1/2 dozen and power shiftin' 3 on the tree! ).
Really nice color combo and solid car. I bet the 261 runs well, especially with a manual. I daily drove a 65 4 door with 250 / glide for a year, it was far from "fresh rebuild" - it did well in traffic and was great on the highway.
I agree. Probably quite rare. I was in junior high when a fellow school bus rider turned sixteen in the fall of 1963. He ordered a '64 Impala (2-dr hardtop) with a six. His father refused to allow him to get a V-8. Cool 62 you've got there lippy.
It's good to see you got that car running and driving and have taken it out a bit. Great to see that the 261 worked out too.
Bought this puppy a year ago from the original owner. It had been parked in the same spot since 1976. Very little surface rust, and none in the floors. I opened the drivers door for the first time since 1980, expecting a nightmare of smell and dirt. No smell, no bugs, no mice and very little dust. Also a 235/3-spd, but with an overdrive. The second pic is with a quick wash job.... The third is the dash, when I first opened the door !! Yours was a whole lot cleaner.......
I feel like a heel, i have it for sale here. I don't want to sell it but I can't keep all of them. I really love this car. It's the only car I've ever owned that my wife really loves. I hope it doesnt sell. Lippy
I think I already said this somewhere on page 1,but I'm old and allowed to repeat myself: that car is awesome.
If I can't find two more 14x6 chrome reverse wheels, I'm sticking the J.C. whitney caps back on. Where are all the nice chrome wheels? LOL
