Projects 62 Impala Garage find.....Kinda out of my element...

Last night this car finally was placed back down onto the ground on all four tires after 48 years..............It was a real cool moment.............You can still see and find most of the original factory paint colors marking the parts from assembly.......which is real neat.............

I have been Tinkering w/ this as well.........Just mounted the core-support and front clip ect.........First time this car has looked like a 1962 Impala in 49 years...........Engine is still at the shop.....

Do you think you could repost a couple of the original pics from 2011 when you first found the car? They aren't showing up in your first post anymore. I've always been a big fan of the '62 Chevy ever since my grandparents bought a yellow '62 Impala SS (283 automatic) with yellow bucket seats when I was 10 years old. When do you expect to be able to take it for a spin around the block? Keep up the great work on it....

 

I missed the Fort Lee, VA tag on the front bumper in the beginning, man this is closer then I thought! I* went to Culinary School in 68'.

 

I was afraid this one slipped away. Glad your still at it Dave. Keep us updated as things progress.

Love that Fort Lee sticker on the bumper (along with the whole car and story). I had forgotten about the military bumper stickers. Couldn't get on the base without one.

 

Just went through this thread tonight - remember it well - would be cool to know where the car is today.

 

Always wondered myself too. Dave hasn't been on since June of '20 best I can tell. There were some health issues in the family from what I've read, hope all is well. Great find, found by the right guy. What a master craftsman.

 

Sorta related: anyone know where I can get a copy of the "Hard Shine" reality show with Jimmy Shine that Dave was on? I used to have it recorded, but it's long gone now, and I can't find any reference to it online anywhere.
