Real nice lookin ‘62 sir ….. brings back memories .

Bought a 62 Impala, nice clean car (or so I thought), 6/cast iron power glide. After fixing the non-existent passenger front floor with coat hanger wire and fiberglass (yeah I know but I was a newbie at the time, way before my time started here), she drove sweet, enjoyed it until one of my work buddies started bugging me about my installing a 409, 4-speed, duals - over the next 2 years I did that after hooking up with someone in Detroit who was involved with their development: QB block, proper numbered dual carbs, he found a correct 4-speed, correct shifter plate, pedal setup, and exhaust and everything was bolted together on a long weekend. Now she ran REAL sweet - my wife would ask me whether she needed a neck brace when we went cruising - lol! The real funny part was that the driver sire of the front bench seat was warn and I had to sit on a folded army blanket and wore thick soled shoes since I am only 5’2” tall and that all helped me reach the pedals! Oh man, that car was one hell of a ride and I never took my foot off the gas when street racing! No lie - this us a true story! Yep, I was probably certifiable !

Now that 454 should make that baby run a lot quicker than my old 409 - enjoy the hell out of the car my friend! Enjoy the ride!
