A buddy of mine spotted this and got some pics. It ain't chopped Merc by Barris or Westergard but it's still pretty cool. Gotta love the smooth stock style gate on it too, may have to build one for my 62. http://fordtruk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10681
hmmm.. needs more oldsmobile in the quarters. make what you need out of what you got. looks like they needed a truck. kinda cool if it runs good.
I knew the 2nd owner and helped his son clean out the shop in Fairfax so the 3rd owner could load it on the trailer. Up close it is a cool ride. The Ford bed fit the olds body line quite well. Glad to see someone getting it back on the road.It started out as a 4-door when the 1st owner bought it new. He was a insurance ajuster. The car didnt have very many miles when it was rearended the damage was light the car repaired. Not long after that a tree fell crushing the back of the car. Insted of totaling out the car he had it rebuilt into the form it is today. The orignal color was red and white. The 1st owner sold it to a man in Fairfax Ok who painted it blue and drove it for a while. His fanily sold it to a guy from Pawnee, Ok. It is good to see someone working on it.Kurte
Just some info on the Olds in this thread. A close friend of mine called this evening and told me pics of our 61 Olds were on this site. It is titled as a 61. My dad bought it from the original owner. I talked to my mom and have more of the story that goes with the car/truck. David
