b-t-w; for those who might want to learn how to share a link:

    1. In your response (or original post) highlight the word or phrase you want to contain the link (see the word "this" in my post above)

    2. Above the box your response is getting typed into there is a row of symbols and/or icons; click on the one that looks like a couple of chain links. As I'm typing right now it's the 7th one from the left.

    3. That will bring up a new black box in the center of your screen. In the center of this box is a smaller box with a blinking bar with "URL:" just to the left.

    4. In this box type the address you want to link to. In most cases you will highlight and copy the address of the other post you're looking at and want to link to.

    5. After you insert the url into the box click on the "INSERT" box just below the url.

    6. BINGO; you've just linked the other post.

  4. I can totally see that; take the car completely apart for a redo, get rid of the chassis, 'cause we're going to build a better one, strip off the paint and filler, 'cause the body has to go down to bare metal, etc,etc
Just like on all the TV shows.
Then at some point realize they are in way over their head and step back to figure out what's next.
Time goes on, room is needed; body gets put outside in the weather and finally sold off.

    So what are your plans?
With a big block Mopar that could be a handful.

That’s exactly it, some people think it’s an easy transformation! Not sure on drivetrain, I have a 276 and 291 hemi but I’m still thinking on unique stuff. An aluminum olds engine would be cool

Yes! My pockets may not be deep enough

  10. The body is kinda '60's show rod like; a multi-carbed early hemi, Caddy, or Olds, maybe even a poly, would better fit the theme than any late model and heaven forbid a sbc.
    btw
Those humorous/smart ass posts helped keep this thread visible at the top and bring in more replies; even if you haven't learned any more history, so far.

    I
. I hear you, there’s no chance it will have a SBC! The 291 hemi I have would be cool but I’m uncertain it’s worth the cost of building it

  13. Just my 2 cents, that car NEEDS a Pontiac engine, 421 with tri-power would certainly do it. And for the grille shell , possibly a modified bumper nose from a 69 Gran Prix ( I realize its an off topic year) . Ya gotta keep that conglomeration of stuff all Pontiac. Just a thought :) Mitch.

I agree on all Poncho stuff; 389, 421 super duty, OHC 6, or Heaven forbid, one of the 4 bangers that those things could have originally had.

we just started cutting up a 64 caddy to build something like this

I am impressed with this Idea! I see more doors going off to the crusher that could have been saved by doing this. Hmmmm....

Can you start a thread Anthony? I really would like to see how your car, and this Pontiac turn out!

I love the Desoto Hemi's, but then a all Pontiac theme does seem to fit too.... It was hard to type this, I am a Mopar guy all the way.

  17. I know this is an old thread, but I was curious and wanted to follow up and see if there was a build thread anywhere. It was a pretty cool car when I saw it in person in Jan '08 at the Cow Palace in SF. Really inspiring.

The OP left the house in 2017, burned his bridges so to speak.
